Pavlos Panayi QC, Andreas Michaelides, Collingwood Thompson QC, Amanda Pinto QC, Nicos Georgiades, , and George Z. Georgiou took part in a panel discussion on anti-money laundering and white collar crime at the first English-Cypriot Law Day held on Friday, 3 June at the Hilton. The conference was also addressed by the Chair of the Bar Council of England and Wales, Chantal-Aimée Doerries QC; the Chairman of the Cyprus Bar Association, Doros Ioannides; the Cyprus Minister of Justice, Ionas Nicolaou; President of the Supreme Court of Cyprus, Myron Nikolatos and in attendance and contributing to the talks and debates were many leading lawyers from the UK and Cyprus including the head of MOKAS (the Cypriot financial crime and money laundering unit), and most of the Board of the Cyprus Bar Association. All those who attended remarked on the success of the event and their hope that it would become an annual event.
